FREE Introductory Guest Class
Gather your family, friends, co-workers, neighbors and bring them to the FREE Group Class. We will introduce a few basic patterns to the dances you already know and by the time the group class is over, your guests will be dancing with you! Allow us to teach your friends social ballroom dancing and you can take the fun and excitement home with you to your next dance event.

FREE Guitar Clinic with Jerry Topinka!
The Jersey Shore Jazz and Blues Foundation and the Middletown Arts Center present Master Guitarist Jerry Topinka and this free guitar clinic. Jerry is a phenomenal guitar player and teacher who has performed solo and with many jazz greats. He recently released a new CD and is truly one of Monmouth County's musical treasures. Bring your guitar!
Spring Arts Festival and Open House
Come experience all the MAC has to offer during this fun family event. Meet our instructors, see demonstrations and exhibits, take mini classes, watch performances and immerse yourself in the ARTS in Middletown. Learn about our upcoming Spring and Summer events and classes, our Summer Camp Program and our new "Partner Classes." Explore Membership and Volunteer Opportunities. Big Dance Social
Put your dancing to practice at our monthly social with exciting salsas, playful cha chas, exquisite waltzes, and fun "mixer" style dances. Door Open at 6:45 pm, 7-7:30 pm group lesson - March lesson will be SAMBA! General Dancing from 7:30 to 10:00 pm with light refreshments. Games and a drawing for the Master Class of Salsa the folloiwng day.
$15 per person ($12 for USA Dance Members - Please present card)
Tango Pantera Weekend IV
The weekend begins on Saturday with a special Milonga with Viviana Parra and LIVE MUSIC by Jofre Romarion and Fernando Otero.Cost is $20 per person. On Sunday, the fun continues with three workshops with Viviana starting at 12:30 and continuing until 4:45 pm. Price for 1 workshop is $35, 2workshops are $60 and all three are $75. There is a $5 discount on each workshop for registrations received before March 3rd. Private lessons with Viviana are available on Monday & Tuesday March 15 & 16.
The Last Whippoorwill Band
Our very popular concert series is back this season with the classic cafe style seating and ample dance floor. We welcome back The Last Whippoorwill Band with their terrific bluegrass music. Light refreshments available.

Middletown Talent Showcase AUDITIONS
Attention Performers: Bring yor unique brand of Talent to the MAC and join the show! Auditions are open to Middletown Residents ages 5 to adult. Performers shoud prepare a 2-3 minute piece. A panel of judges will score performances based on skill, stage presence, originality, costuming and overall performance. Top scoring performers will perform their winning act in the Talent Shwocase on Friday May 21 and Saturday May 22. Audition fee: $10 Pre-registration for auditions required by March 12.
MASTER CLASS - WALTZ
US Professional Champion and choreopgrapher for "So You Think You Can Dance" Edward Simon has an amazing Waltz Day planned. During hour 1, Edward will cover the basics of posture & movement-- perfect for all levels. During hour 2, we will learn an intermediate Waltz combo. For the third hour, Edward will teach classic "Picture Lines" - pose-like patterns appropriate for all levels and exciting variations to enhance your waltz. $35 for 1 class, $60 for 2, $90 for all three!
OLE! Flamenco Comes to the MAC!

The Alborada Dance Companuy will present this exciting dance show that will transport the audience to the hils of Spain, where for decades the gypsies have entertained locals and tourists in cafes with their dance. The traditional and passionate Flamenco Tablao (nightclub style) dance performance in an intimate cafe setting will include festive regional dances, Rumbas, Bulerias, and Alegrias, and other more dramatic Flamenco dances.

Martin Taylor Guitar Concert-Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues Foundation
Seating is limited to 250 in this intimate theatre for the Martin Taylor guitar concert. Described as "genius" this is a unique opportunity to hear the virtuoso perform. Opening for Martin Taylor is Jerry Topinka, one of New Jersey's outstanding jazz guitarists performing with Mike Hogen. High Tech High's "15 Minute Hamlet" and "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead&q
Directed, produced amd performed by HTH students, "15 Minute Hamlet" is a hilarious 13-minute skit with a two-minute version encore that condenses the most famous and best loved lines from Shakespeare's play. Six actors with hectic doubling play the multitude of characters. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead is a tragicomedy by Tom Stoppard that expands upon the exploits of two minor characters from Hamlet, the courtiers Rosencrantz and Guikldenstern. Advance Tickets $7/$10 at the door.

A Celebration of Stitches
The Monmouth Chapter of the Embroiderer's Guild of America presents this exhibit of fine needle and fiber arts. The exhibit will showcase a variety of needlework styles including canvaswork, crewel, beading, counted thread and surface embroidery. The highlight of the exhibit will be the five-panel National Tapestry "American the Beautiful" that was stitched by over 500 members of the EGA and depicts animal, plants, and geographical features of each state. The event is FREE.
