Evening Painting Workshop with June Wilson

Join artist June Wilson for this EVENING Painting Workshop! Adult participants will be taught to use paints (either oil or acrylic) and will be instructed on color, form, and space. Since this is a workshop, the instruction is individualized and is welcome to all levels from beginner to professional artists and teachers who come for feedback in an environment conducive to serious study.

This Fall, students of all ages can immerse themselves in a special program taught by Master Artist, Elizabeth Schettini Sowell. The program is designed to take students through the fundamentals of drawing, sculpture, printmaking and painting in such a way that they will graduate the program with the solid foundation needed to be successful at making art, both personally and professionally. The life-changing class will guide students in a progression of skills, building a solid foundation for all art with strong technical skills. Students will draw from life, still life and from their imagination while they progress to Intermediate Drawing then Sculpture, Printmaking and Painting as they develop and hone art skills and learn the language of art.

A great class for students who are serious about their art and want to develop their skills and advance. Artists of all levels are invited to immerse themselves in this very special class where artists can really make significant progress as an artist while they create art in a warm, friendly and instructional environment. Join artist Ronda Christie for this art sampler class, designed for students of all abilities looking to expand their artistic horizons! This class will cover a variety of media, including linoleum block printing, watercolor, acrylic, colored pencil, and pastel. As we work with the various materials, we will also learn about the elements and principles of design, and how to use them to create dynamic pieces of art. Every two weeks we will cover a new medium!

Do you dream of wearing your own jewelry designs? This is the class with artist Ronda Christie is for you! Students will learn to create jewelry including earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and even hair accessories made of polymer clay. Learning a variety of techniques, including caning, slab-design, bead-making, and mimicking gemstones, students will discover a variety of ways to bring their jewelry ideas to life!

In this thrilling eight-week program, renowned Dungeon Master and tabletop game expert, Sam Baker, will teach students everything they need to know to get started in the amazing world of RPGs (role playing games).
CLASS OVERVIEW:
Week 1: Intro to Roleplaying Games/ Intro to Character Creation
Overview of the players handbook for D&D 5th edition, gameplay mechanics, character sheets, and then introduction to character creation.
Week 2: Character Creation/Intro To Game Mastering
In-depth look at what the GM is responsible for, what they can delegate to players, and the structure of an adventure.
Week 3: Play Experience
With Sam as DM groups will run a short adventure touching on every aspect of roleplaying games (ex. Combat and stats, choice, character roleplay, separation between player vs character, non-violent resolutions, player consideration and safety tools for D&D
Week 4 – 8 : 2 hour Adventures!
Now that everyone knows the ropes, the adventures continue with each student getting
a chance to DM. Students will be provided modules (packets with premade game content). The DMs of the week will set aside their character for that week and the students are let loose to play in groups with Sam guiding and answer rule disputes as needed.

Relax into Writing with Mimi Cross

Would you like to reduce stress? Do you want to grow your creativity? If so, this 75 minute class taught by published author and certified yoga instructor, Mimi Cross, is for you! We begin Relax into Writing with a centering warm up consisting of gentle stretches and attention to breath, followed by a guided 15 to 20-minute deep relaxation meditation. In this state of relaxation and body awareness, we learn how to sense blocks within the body through a technique called scanning. After the body scan, we transition from relaxing to writing, with the intention of transforming blocks into stories.If you write, or want to write, learning how tension, tightness, and holding in your body can translate into this special type of treasure will support you.
When time allows, participants will be invited to share their writing, however, sharing is not required!
Materials needed: 1 full size 8×10 or 8×11 notebook. A favorite pen or pencil.
Wear loose, comfortable clothing, and feel free to bring a blanket or cushion.
No previous experience with meditation or creative writing necessary!

This gentle but stimulating Yoga class will allow individuals of all levels and fitness experiences to engage in the practice of Yoga. Yoga is an ancient form of full body exercise that focuses on core strength, balance, control, and breath. Exercises can be modified for injuries and all bodies. No previous experience required. Please bring a mat.
Mimi, a 200+ hour certified Kripalu Yoga Instructor, is an author, songwriter, and Arts educator as well as the creator of Body of Writing, a practice that adds an additional dimension to the traditional mind-body-spirit discipline of yoga: story. It is never too late to learn how to play the piano! These fun and energetic recreational group piano lessons for Senior Citizens meets for 45 minutes weekly.
Lori is a long time musician and theatre director, who has displayed a passion and love for teaching young children over the past 25 years. From as young as 4 years old, Lori started teaching herself piano and developed an intuitive sense of learning, playing, and developing her style. Lori began her career teaching private lessons but soon realized she could reach more students and provide even greater social benefits by also teaching group classes. Lori has a rich history of directing theatre in local productions, as well as providing student recitals and orchestrating other amusing and student focused events.
