Unlock the world of drumming with a fun 90-minute group percussion class for beginners! This course combines hands-on drumming and percussion with the essential skills of reading and notating rhythms.

Students will:

        • Learn the parts of a drum kit, proper posture, and stick grip

        • Play a variety of drum instruments- djembes, shakers, tambourines and more

        • Play their first drum beats and basic patterns (rudiments)

        • Develop the ability to keep a steady beat and control tempo

        • Master the basics of reading and writing drum notation, including note values, rests, and rhythm symbols 

        • Practice fun step by step exercises that blend playing and reading, building confidence and musical understanding 

By the end of the class session, students will play beginner grooves and read simple rhythms from sheet music laying a solid foundation for all future drumming!
