Unlock the world of drumming with our FREE, 60-minute Beginner Beats Boot Camp summer sessions on July 27 and August 17 at the Middletown Arts Center (36 Church Street). These fun, hands-on summer versions of David Halpern’s popular school-year programs combine interactive drumming on djembes, shakers, and tambourines with essential skills like posture, steady tempo, and reading basic rhythm notation. By the end of class, students will play their first grooves and simple patterns, laying a solid foundation for all future drumming.
Available in two levels to match your child’s skill set:
- Beginner Beats One (4:00 PM – 5:00 PM): Designed for total beginners to learn proper posture, stick grip, and basic rhythms.
- Beginner Beats Two (5:00 PM – 6:00 PM): Highly recommended for students who already have some drumming experience or have previously taken David’s classes.
Attendance is completely free, but enrollment is strictly limited to the first 10 registrants per level.
