Just a room full of people who love comedy and want to mess around with ideas. This drop-in sketch writing workshop series welcomes beginners, performers, writers, and curious comedy fans alike. We’ll explore premises, characters, and classic sketch structures through games, writing exercises, and group collaboration.
Come to one workshop or come to all, it’s your choice!
Come to write, come to laugh, or come to try something new—every session stands on its own, and fun is the only requirement.
Week One: Get Your Ideas On! (April 13): OMG! Why didn’t I think of that?… or how to come up with ideas for sketches
Week Two: Get Your Character Monologue On! (April 20): I Didn’t Ask, But Go On… or how to write a character monologue.
Week Two: Get Your Late-Night On! (April 27) I’m up past my bedtime … or writing for late-night.
Week Two: Get Your SNL On! (May 4) Live from the Page!… Writing Sketches in the SNL & Second City Style.
