Come draw surrounded by nature!

Every human can be creative! Especially in the right atmosphere where there is enough inspiration to have ideas and enough peace to hear them. In the Forest Figure Drawing workshop, we will follow the trail at Poricy Park to a clearing in the lush green trees where easels and supplies await. An experienced (clothed) model will be guided to take a variety of poses for different lengths of time, allowing students to enjoy drawing the human form. Figure (or “Life”) drawing is a beloved practice held by artists throughout history. By using live reference, we are able to better understand the forms and by convening as a group, we get out of our own head and into the present moment. Traditionally, these classes are held at indoor art studios or galleries. So we hope to amplify the meditative qualities that this activity already provides by hosting it beneath the trees, surrounded only by fresh air and the sound of birds singing. Workshops are open to all ages and experience levels.
