Join the Garden State Watercolor Society for the 54th Open Juried Exhibition and the 6th Annual Art Installation: Wish You Were Here!, Artists Paint Postcards from their Past, Present and Future.
The Awards Reception will take place on Sat, May 11 from 2:30-4 pm. Free and open to the public.
The Juried Exhibition features artwork by over 70 artists, selected for acceptance and awards by Douglas Wiltraut. Douglas is the current President of the National Society of Painters in Casein & Acrylic, Inc. He has earned numerous awards and has featured articles in American Artist and The Artist’s Magazine. His paintings explore the beauty of the passage of time and the effects it has on objects and people.
In 2024, the postcard will celebrate its 155th birthday, marking a milestone in the history of human communication. Inspired by this legacy, GSWS members created a unique installation that breathes life through the art of postcard storytelling. Postcards are for sale, priced per set.
“CHOPPED” Painting: Live! | Sat, Apr 20 | 2-4 pm
Garden State Watercolor Society (GSWS) will host an exciting live “Chopped”-style painting event. GSWS artists will be given several secret ingredients (just like the famous cooking show) that they must use to create one-of-a-kind watercolor paintings. The finished, matted paintings will be raffled off to benefit both MAC and GSWS.

GSWS will host a fun opportunity for artists and art lovers of all ages to create their own postcards. This event is inspired by the GSWS 6th Annual Art Installation of hand-painted postcards inspired by the Past, Present and Future entitled Wish you were here!
