If your child is a born performer, then this class is for them! Andrea brings to these classes her expertise as a performer, choreographer, teacher, coach and national judge. A routine in either musical theater, jazz or contemporary dance is learned and studied over a few weeks. The students will then attend class as if it were an audition, where they will perform the learned routine and get detailed feedback on their performance quality, artistry, technique, musicality, knowledge of the choreography and more in a positive, nurturing and supportive environment. Afterwards there will be a group discussion to review and understand their strengths and opportunities for improvement. The following week, the process begins all over again with a new routine! Click here for Uniform Requirements.

ADULT CLASSES ALSO AVAILABLE. CLICK HERE.

ABOUT ANDREA WACHHOLTZ

During my years of professional teaching experience I have taught dancers at all levels. The body, the brain, the heart and soul of every dancer is delicate and their best interests should be considered throughout their childhood and young adult years they spend in our classes here at the Middletown Arts Center Dance Academy.

Teaching without judgment in a structured environment, while empowering and enabling students through creative and educational methods is possible whether or not dance becomes a career choice.

Dance at the MAC Dance Academy will not only focus on technique but about dance as an art form and about the growing dancer in a way that may help achieve greatness in the future for themselves by improving social and emotional health, coordination, strength, balance, brain function and boosting memory and self confidence.

I love being the teacher that says, “Yes, you can” no matter how difficult the task at hand may be. Giving them the tools to make it possible within their facility as long as they work for it. It may take time but it will be the best we can both do together. At the MAC Dance Academy, we will strive to instill a more continuous love of dance, dance education and individual creativity throughout each student’s time here.”
